The short answer
Every K-12 student in Miami-Dade is eligible for the Florida Private School Scholarship — $8,745 for grades K-3, $8,140 for grades 4-8 and $7,942 for grades 9-12 in 2026-27 — paid directly to any of the 486 participating private schools in the county. There is no income cap.
Students with a diagnosis
Students with autism, a specific learning disability, speech-language impairment, ADHD/OHI or another qualifying diagnosis can use the Unique Abilities Scholarship (FES-UA) instead, averaging about $10,000 in a parent-directed account.
Homeschool and hybrid
The Personalized Education Program (PEP) gives homeschooling and hybrid-school families the same dollar amount in an education savings account. The 2027-28 window opens February 1, 2027.
Deadlines right now
New families can apply for the 2026-27 Private School Scholarship through November 15, 2026 and must accept the award in EMA by December 15. Students must be enrolled by the school in EMA by the quarterly deadline to be funded.
What the scholarship does not cover
Tuition above the award, registration fees at some schools, uniforms and transportation. That gap is where school aid, the Archdiocese programs, the 2027 federal scholarship and our partner fund come in.
