Homeschool and hybrid funding in Miami-Dade

Florida pays homeschooling families. The Personalized Education Program puts roughly $8,000 per child in an account you direct — and Miami-Dade has a growing set of hybrid church schools built for it.

How PEP works

Apply through Step Up, file a student learning plan, and spend from the account on curriculum, tutors, online classes, part-time programs and testing. The student must not be enrolled in public school or a registered Home Education Program.

2027-28 timing

The 2026-27 program is full (140,000 students statewide). The next window is February 1 – April 30, 2027.

Hybrid schools that take PEP

Two- and three-day programs at church campuses across Hialeah, Kendall, Homestead and north county price tuition around the PEP amount. See our Church-Run Schools section.

Students with a diagnosis

FES-UA also funds homeschooling, with a higher average award, and can pay for therapies alongside curriculum.
